Bottega Veneta Debuts Salon 03 Collection

For Daniel Lee’s Salon 03 collection for Bottega Veneta, he flew in to Detroit celebs like Lil Kim, Mary J Blige, Burna Boy, Peter Do, and, of course, all the fashion insiders. Last year, the creative director announced that he was no longer following the set fashion calendar and began presenting off-season, first starting with 01 in London, and then in Berlin for 02 this past April. Lee’s rumored love for techno and his affinity towards industrial, brutalist cities brought the brand to Detroit. Lee who originally hails from Leeds, also an industrial city, focused on sporty elements combined with workwear for this collection as an homage to Detroit’s workwear scene. Models strutted down Michigan Theater with a soundtrack by Moodymann playing in the background and Bottega’s new signature Kelly Green rampant throughout.

The Model Alliance

The CFDA Awards are fastly approaching, with the ceremony being set for November 10th. This year, non-profit organization The Model Alliance founded by Sara Ziff, will be honored with the event’s first Positive Social Influence Award; the organization is being recognized for mobilizing a safer environment for models, free from abuse and toxicity for the industry. Zendaya, who is in the midst of her press tour for Dune and wearing stellar looks from Loewe and Rick Owens, will be the youngest person to receive the Fashion Icon honor. Queen Gambit’s lead Anya Taylor-Joy will receive the inaugural Face of the Year Award for standout looks throughout award season born from her performance in The Queen’s Gambit. Both have been styled by Law Roach in the past, which can’t be a coincidence.

Debut Is Loading

Anifa Mvuemba, founder of womenswear brand, Hanifa and CVFF grant winner, will present her fall 21 collection in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 16 at The National Portrait Gallery. Luckily for consumers, the collection will be available for purchase immediately following the debut show.
